What is a scientific theory?

A scientific theory is a logical and coherent explanation of some aspect of nature that is supported by a vast body of evidence.

A scientific theory can be thought to be the most reliable type of knowledge that we have about the world. Facts that have been gathered over time can be used to build scientific theories about the world.

Darwin's Theory:  Scientific Fact Or Just A Theory?

A theory is not science unless it is falsifiable. This means that it should be possible to apply a test to see if the predictions made by the theory are true or false. 

The theory of evolution does not meet this criterion because every single one of its predictions fails on a regular basis and cannot be tested due to its inaccuracy. 

The fossil record, in addition to being incomplete, is also not dependable because it contains gaps that are impossible to fill due to their significant size.

The theory of evolution was first proposed by Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace in 1858. The idea behind the theory is that all species on Earth are descended from common ancestors and that these ancestors were themselves the product of evolutionary change.

The fossil records show that evolution can happen within a species, but it cannot create another new species. This is because evolution occurs on a micro-level and not at the macro-level of entire populations and species.

The process of evolution involves three steps: mutation, selection, and inheritance. 

Mutations are random errors in copying DNA that causes changes in the organism’s genetic code. Selection decides which mutations will be passed on to future generations and which will be discarded because they are harmful to the organism’s survival chances or because they are not useful for living in that particular environment.

Inheritance is when a mutation becomes part of an organism’s genetic code and can be passed on to its offspring if it survives long enough to reproduce.

Evolving into a new species takes more than just time. It needs natural selection, genetic mutation, variation, and reproductive isolation to happen.


Conclusion: Mutation, selection, inheritance, and reproductive isolation: all these factors sound more like a well-planned and executed process rather than a blind process that relies on unguided natural selection for survival.
